ABCO tanks are renowned for their rapid installation and sturdy build. They are constructed from bolted metal sheets of either the dimensions 1200 x 2880 mm or 915 x 2880 mm.

Each tank is specified in terms of number of sheets (circumference) and number of rings (height), as well as sheet type. This allows ABCO tank capacities to be amazingly versatile and modifiable to each client and site requirements.

We at ABCO have perfected the construction of this style of bolted sheets tank with the use of our own manufactured lifting jacks. These jacks enable us to construct our tanks from the top down. Therefore, if a roof is required, it can be installed complete with roof trusses and sheets. This eliminates the need for cranes, scaffolding, elevated work platforms, or permits for working at heights, greatly reducing the time spent on sites.

Once the roof and/or top row of sheets have been bolted together, the liner can be installed. The jacks are then attached, and the whole section is evenly hoisted into the air, allowing the next row of sheets to be installed. This process is repeated until the desired tank height has been reached. It is then lowered to the ground and the jacks are removed.

Each tank is designed with an open base and can either be installed on even, flat ground, or a concrete ring beam. A layer of fine grade material is spread within the base of the tank, and a protective cloth is laid down, protecting the heavy duty tank liner that was previously attached.

Except for the top row of the tank, each row is fitted with an access sheet. Again, during construction, this alleviates the classification of a confined space. On the final row of sheets, the access sheet is used as the permanent man-way access point. This allows for future access into the tank for maintenance or replacement of the liner.
