From Plumbing Store to Water Treatment Industry Pioneer

ABCO Water was founded in 1948 by Andrew Brown in York, Western Australia as a plumbing and hardware store. Over time, the company evolved and shifted its focus to become a services company, expanding into government building construction and maintenance services.

In 1971, recognising the growing needs of the mining and resources sector, ABCO Water began supplying water and wastewater treatment systems.

In 1997, ABCO Water was re-incorporated with new capabilities, clients, regions of supply and scope of projects. This move allowed the company to expand its operations and services while still retaining its focus on the mining and resources industry. ABCO Water becomes a trusted name in the supply of water and wastewater treatment solutions throughout Australia and overseas.

In September 2022, ABCO Water was acquired by BWater, a move that further strengthened the company’s position as a leading provider of innovative and sustainable water solutions. The new owners Brendan Doherty, Kyle Matthews and Michael Hartnett bring with them a combined 45+ years of water and wastewater treatment experience.
